The Green Bay Packers travel to AT&T Stadium to face the Dallas Cowboys in the 2017 NFL Playoffs

The Dallas Cowboys look to continue their best season EVER!

Today the Dallas Cowboys are sitting in the number one spot out of all 32 NFL football teams as they look to knock off the Green Bay Packers.  Early in the preseason the starting quarterback Tony Romo went down with another predictable back injury.  Now the rookie quarterback Dak Prescott has earned his right to be the starter and Romo is riding the pine on looking from the outside looking in.  It's going to be a great game today and we're excited to see the outcome.

The Green Bay Packers had the favorable call last time these two teams met in the Playoffs where the infamous non-catch happened and crushed the Cowboys dreams of continuing to the next round of the playoffs.  You can see in this picture here that an emotional Dez Bryant was in tears as he left Lambeau Field.  It is our opinion that the Packers are going to disappoint the "Boys" one more time and add to the post season misfires that we've seen following the 90's!  Either way we think it's going to be a great game and we're excited about this match up!

NFL Preseason week 3

NFL PRESEASON WEEK 3

Let me start this blog by saying, (bragging:) I called the Tony Romo injury a few days before it happened.  If we were in Las Vegas gambling, I'm sure the odds on that bet would be 50/50 or worse in favor of the injury.  Tony Romo may have actually done the Dallas Cowboys a favor by revealing the inevitable fate of his Cowboy future.  This obviously allows the "Red Hot Rookie" Dak Prescott to take the reins earlier in the season due to injury then skeptics originally expected.  The mid season chuckle that we have to wait for is when Romo comes back to a 6 and 2 Cowboys team which will make him officially the highest paid cheerleader in the league.

One of the interesting games that I caught on NFL Network during their preseason coverage was the New England Patriots and Chicago Bears game.  Surely I wasn't the only person who watched the game on the TV considering the Patriots starting quarterback Tom Brady also missed the game due to a minor paper cut allegedly caused by scissors.  After seeing the damage, I personally came to the conclusion that it was self inflicted by Brady so he could miss the game.  This "in my opinion" was an attempt to send a silent middle finger to the NFL for the "deflategate" suspension that was upheld in the highest court.  I thought the highlight of that game however was Howie Long's sons Kyle Long (Chicago Bears) and Chris Long (New England Patriots) playing in the same game against each other.

While remaining on the brother theme, here's a pair of brothers that have reached some real milestones in their coaching career.  Twin sons of Buddy Ryan, Rex Ryan and Rob Ryan are now on the coaching staff payroll together for the Buffalo Bills.  Rex (who has lost some serious weight) found some early success with the New York Jets and has now landed the Head Coach position with the Buffalo Bills.  Rob Ryan however has bounced around the NFL a little more than his brother from running the defense of Cowboys to the Saints and now the Bills.  This is another story that I think will be interesting as the Bills face an 8 and 8 "Black Monday".

NFL Preseason Week 2

Preseason Week 2

With the new 2016 NFL Season underway, the 32 teams look much different than they did last season at this point.  Thanks to HBO Hard Knocks, fans have a inside look at the LA Rams (which have recently returned to L.A.) and how the number one overall NFLDraft Pick Jared Goff is fighting for a starting spot. Goff has shown signs of brilliance but still looks like he will be riding the pine behind QB Chase Reynolds.  The spotlight however has been shinning very bright on the talented RB Todd Gurley, especially with the HBO cameras capturing the behind the scenes action in Los Angles.

In other news, QB Robert Griffin III seems to be proving his worth as a starter and reminding fans that he should have been starting whenever he has been healthy.  The Washington Redskins released Griffin after naming Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy to start in front of him.  There's no question that RGIII is more talented than both of those QB's combined and I would be looking for another Cleveland Comeback story similar as the one found with Lebron James in the 2016 NBA Finals.  Please note that I'm not comparing RGIII with Lebron James in any fashion except for a professional sports player that can take Cleveland to a Championship.

Another story that has the NFC East watching is Dak Prescott in Dallas where he has lit up the scoreboard for the Cowboys in both preseason games.  Week 2, Prescott connected with Dez for 2 touchdown tosses and also ran two in making it look easy.  The question is, is there a chance to take the starting role in Dallas since Tony Romo is obviously the number one.  Considering that Tony Romo has a 68% chance of a re-injuring his back in 2016 and a 38% chance of finishing the season without missing any games, I would say that Prescott's chances are looking great!  My curiosity is leaning on first round draft pick, RB Ezekiel Elliott as he's limping into the NFL in true Cowboys fashion.

These are just a few stories that I found worth noting in this blog, stay tuned for a more detailed account of the NFL from a fans point of view.  We would like to give a special thanks to our sponsors, Lighting By Veterans and Make It Rain Marketing.
